Spreadsheet to district inventory

Leave the device spreadsheet. Keep the history.

Most districts already have serials in Excel. EDUnifi imports CSV, then keeps assignment, repair, and ticket history on the same record—so you are not maintaining a workbook and a help desk that never talk.

What you bring

  • Serial numbers, asset tags, buildings, and device types
  • Exports from a prior inventory tool or a living spreadsheet
  • A tech director who knows which columns actually matter

What onboarding includes

  • CSV import and spreadsheet migration workflows
  • Migration guidance and setup assistance
  • Staff training so the new system is how work gets done

After import, inventory is not a dead list

Once devices are in EDUnifi, technicians search by serial or tag, attach tickets, and keep warranty and assignment history in one place. See asset management, Chromebook inventory, and ticketing.

Questions about leaving spreadsheets

Can we import school inventory from Excel or Google Sheets?

Yes. EDUnifi supports CSV import and spreadsheet migration workflows. Onboarding includes migration guidance so you are not reconstructing every record by hand.

Do we have to finish migration before we use help desk?

Scope is discussed during onboarding. The strongest result is inventory plus tickets in one platform, so technicians see device history on the same record.
